Truth Thursday
Lessons from my experience
With this blog, I share the truth I have learnt in my life in the hopes that it will motivate others to find their truth.
I have learnt that the deepest truth is within my soul.
I have learnt that there are no obligations in life, only free will.
I have learnt that I reap what I sow.
These three truths helped me to realise that I had never taken responsibility for my own life. I blamed God, indirectly, for a lot of things I felt were wrong about the way my career was heading. When I finally realised that my life is my own for me to do as I see fit, I came to know that there is a level of freedom that eludes most of us because we are constantly aiming to please other people outside ourselves.
It's very easy to talk about doing what you want to do or being who you want to be. However, for those that are used to receiving the accolades and approval of others or those that delight in being and doing the 'right' thing, it is not as easy. It means that you have to let go of every parameter against which you measured yourself and begin to see that your own approval is enough.
You most likely like the idea of being your own boss. However, this requires your being responsible for yourself and able to ignore others when they tell you how foolish or delusional or mad you are, just because you have decided to be directed by your internal compass.
Aside from other people telling you how crazy you are, you have to deal with your mind telling you how crazy you are. You have to learn to train your mind not to take cues from others but to take cues from within. You have to get your mind to move from seeking another person's approval, to begin seeking your approval- you being your soul, your true self.
This blog is all about the journey on that path. I hope that it will help you discover your own voice and your own path for your own self.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments or even just to say hello. I am on this journey as much as you are, and it will be great to know I have some friends on this path with me. I can also make time to chat if you need a listening ear.
So get in touch. I am always available to respond.
Love,

Sometimes fatigue is mental. It requires rest too.

Anxious Much?
Anxiety shows up at different times and in different ways. In this post, I explore my reactions to being asked to do something, trying to understand the way my anxiety operates in that instance. I talk about addressing this anxiety by understanding it first. I also remind us they we should be kind to those around us who might be dealing with their own forms of anxiety

The Truth is Never Hidden
Learning to take responsibility by seeing where we have ignored the truth

A Series on Fear - Part 4: Presently Thriving
Thriving in the present - living without fear - consists of repeatedly telling yourself: as I am right now, I am enough. I have all I need to play my part and my role today. This includes saying yes! to the opportunities that present themselves to you.

A Series on Fear - Part 3: Remaining Present and Hopeful
We create the future with our present actions. If we find that we are spending a lot of time imagining future scenarios, without actually doing any ground work to support those dreams, that is fear in action, and we can stamp that out by focusing on doing what we can now and making things happen with what we have in our possession today.

A Series on Fear - Part 2: How do I remain present and still learn from the past?
Watch your thoughts around past events and learn to ask yourself if the way you are thinking is giving you an opportunity to grow, or whether it is keeping you “safe and sound”, right where you are.

A Series on Fear - Part 1: How Do We Recognise Fear
“Fear kills. It is destructive. It suffocates your hopes and dreams. It buries you alive and pretends that it is keeping you safe. That is why you have to stop and ask yourself, is this reaction/decision/counsel etc giving me life? Is it allowing me to express myself now, without attachment to any outcome? Or do I have, in fact, an illusion of safety that is suffocating me?”

Each Step is a Victory
Try acknowledging yourself more and remember that each step is a victory.
