Time With Joseph: You Can Do What You Have Been Called To Do

““We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭40:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Joseph reminds me so much of Jesus Christ. Specifically His confidence and ease in speaking, plainly and straight to the point, the truth with no fear or anxiety.

“Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

It is such an unquestioning attitude showing someone that is fully aware of the presence of God in his life and fully able to use that presence for the blessing and liberation of others.

This is one way to describe a magus, a master of his immediate environment.

Today I believe the question we need to ask ourselves is why we still doubt ourselves? Perhaps others don’t, but when I read some of my messages, my reaction isn’t like Joseph’s here. It’s more on the side of disbelief? Who? Me?

But really, yes me. Why not me? Does God not know what He is doing ?

Secondly and perhaps more importantly to understand the source of Joseph’s unquestioning confidence, which we see mirrored in our Lord Jesus Christ, is the wisdom in realising ‘all interpretations belong to God.’ He sees himself completely as a medium and not as the originator of the message. So there is no room for doubt as he does not doubt God, from whom all interpretations come. He knows that he is in tune with the originator and interpreter of the messages and thus can be useful to others that are not.

What do we learn from Joseph today?

Be confident that God who’s given you the roles He has given to you in this incarnation knew what He was doing. In that confidence, be fully available to be used by Him for the good of your fellow men. Why doubt ? God doesn’t lie. If your intentions are to tell His truth, then you will.
