Pay Attention To Yourself

When's the last time you paid attention to what you were doing for yourself? I'm not talking about things you thought you had to do like school work, house chores or stuff that's part of your job/role; I'm talking about something you really care about.

In an ideal world we would care about our jobs and all the things that we do day to day and end up spending most of our time doing. It's very easy to let that slip. Truth is we're never going to be 100% fulfilled until we're able to love every part of our life.

Think about some of the things you have really loved in the past or still love now: Favourite song, or video game or class in school. Whatever it happens to be there's a common theme that holds them altogether: Your attention.

It's easy to pay attention to the things we love, in fact we do it without effort, it feels great to engage in the things that we enjoy, after all it's fun so we are more than willing to concentrate our energies and focus on whatever that thing happens to be.

True happiness comes from self expression, when we express the love that we have within it is life affirming. We can and we must express ourselves fully at all times, at work, home, school, with friends, family and even people we don't know. True expression is freedom, freedom is love and love is what you are. That's why it feels amazing to just be yourself, to just do what YOU want to do.

We get stuck when we don't know how to express ourselves fully. When we don't know what we should be doing to feel that freedom that we know is inside us.

How to figure out what you should be doing:

Spend time with yourself

Remember: you pay attention to the things that you love, it's time to pay REAL attention to yourself. You do this by consciously spending time with yourself.

Start with 3 minutes a day for a week increase it to 5 minutes and then 10 when you're ready. Remember that this time is for you to get to know yourself better. Start by breathing deeply through your nose and exhaling out your mouth 2 or 3 times, then continue to breathe normally through your nose but notice the rhythm and depth of your breath. Just hang out in your own company, you'll teach yourself a thing or two, trust me!

  1. Write down what you want to be, do and have and put the reasons why. Get to know yourself better. Ask yourself how you would feel if you had all the stuff you ever wanted and go straight to that feeling. Hold onto that feeling as often as you can and your point of attraction will become a vibrational match with your desires and you will manifest all the stuff you want faster and feel great right now. (This is the law of attraction, and I'll post a whole article on this soon!)

  2. Do at least 1 thing a day to get you closer to your goals. It doesn't have to be massive, just keep moving toward your goal and don't stop till you get there. Feel good about treating yourself good.

REMEMBER: it's not what others think about you that's important, it's what you think about you. So think yourself into being the best you that you can be.

Till the next spill,

Rich
